A long time coming

We never registered for dinnerware or table settings when we got married. Big mistake. Why in the world I decided to be thrifty at the one time in life where you can create a giant lists of all your wants and desires, I do not know, but alas we did not register for them.

Ken had a set of a discounted, incomplete set dishes he found in the clearance section of Dillards. All things considered, they weren't bad, they were just not something we'd probably choose together as we start our married life. He had these dishes when he moved out with a friend in to an apartment and we decided to welcome them into our dish family when we married.

Well, 6+ years later, we finally took the plunge and purchased dishes that we both love and are actually excited to plate our food upon. The best part was using part (yes, only part!) of the income from the big garage sale we had at our house a couple months ago. It felt like when you're a child and your aunt sends you birthday cash. You know, the feeling of 'not losing anything' and also getting what you really want?

So, I happily welcome the newest member of our kitchen and eatery collection..... :)

{Will get a photo later. The stock photo doesn't do it justice, in my opinion.}
